Village Roadshow was the first partner in Girls on Top's business leadership and incentive programme, Rise & Shine, on our Himaya expedition in 2006. The organisation sent Jennifer Wright as an ambassador for her team, rewarding her committment, talent, dedication and leadership with the the chance to excell and develop on the adventure of a lifetime.
Jennifer, who works in promotions in Melbourne, stepped into the lead and into the unknown, joining our demanding expedition to Ladakh in September to take a month-long high altitude journey into the mountains, culture and personal limits of a Girls on Top trip. Village Roadshow and Girls on Top congratulate Jen on her resilience, humour, patience and self-reliance. She was an exemplerary member of the team and has returned with new ideas about her own abilities, and about the world we live in. We hope Jen's journey will encourage and inspire other staff members to reach new heights - whether geographic, professional or personal.
A Giant Leap Leadership is neither born nor taught: it is circumstance that calls forth a champion.
The inclusion of a Village staff member on our expeditions is a way to combine Girls on Top's leadership in personal growth, vision and passion with the skills, resources and talents of staff working with major organisations. Through Rise & Shine, our corporate climbing project, we bring adventure to women in business, and show how the business of adventure relates to challenge and achievement at work. Our partners from business embrace it as a way to reward and enrich a leader from the staff, and use her story to inspire others.
